About Jenny Heathcote HPD, DSFH

Jenny trained and qualified in Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy in 2009 at the Clifton Practice in Bristol, one of the leading accredited training courses. She is a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and is bound by their codes of practice.

Jenny is passionate about the power of accessing the unconscious mind to facilitate  the positive life changes and goal achievements she sees in her clients.

Jenny uses Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy to treat a wide range of issues and habits which usually stem from stress, anger, anxiety, depression, negative thinking or a combination of these. She uses the Solution Focused model which supports the clients own inner resources to seek and harness their own solutions to resolve issues.

Jenny has also worked for many years as a violin teacher. This child-focused experience has enabled her to bring significant support to children and young people in her hypnotherapy work.

"Jenny is kind, sensitive and professional. She provided hypnotherapy online for my 8 year old daughter, and she benefitted so much. She had a serious fear of needles due to a traumatic experience in hospital and needed an important blood test. Jenny's sessions helped her overcome this fear and get to know her own mind better as well. Her techniques were gentle and accommodating and have supported improved sleep for my daughter also. We can highly recommend her practice."

What can I help you with and how does it work?

I use hypnotherapy to treat a wide range of conditions which are relatively straight forward to treat, such as smoking or phobias, to more complex problems such as working with people who suffer with emotional or physical pain.

Some of the most common conditions I have successfully treated include:
Depression, Anxiety and stress
Eating disorders and weight management
Stop smoking/control habits
Phonias and panic attacks
OCD
IBS or digestive problems
Migraines and Insomnia
Anger management
Self confidence and public speaking
Sports achievement
Exam nerves
Natural childbirth
Pain relief

Motivation
Improving memory
Asthma
Nocturnal enuresis
Bereavement
Relationship issues

How does it work?

Hypnosis is a natural state of trance similar to meditation. In hypnosis you are not asleep, and in fact you are often more aware of what is taking place than normal. During hypnosis you will simply feel comfortable and relaxed, with a heightened sense of awareness.
I will explain all the steps to you and make you feel at ease. It’s important to remember that you are fully alert and in control during the session. The therapist cannot ask you to do or say anything you are not happy with.
